The Jungle Book is a story most of us know. [post_ads]It’s about a boy named Mowgli whose parents were killed by a tiger so he was adopted and raised by the animals that roam the jungle. Turns out it’s not entirely a story. For one little girl, growing up with the animals of Africa was her reality for the first 10 years of her life and we get to see her adventures.

Tippi Benjamine Okanti Degré lived with her parents as they travelled through Africa.

It was like having the biggest playground. We lived in a tent, completely in the wild, but she always woke up with the sun shining and her parents around her. She was very lucky,” said her mother Sylvie.

Her middle name is Okanti which means mongoose or meerkat and also happens to be the only animal to ever have bitten her.

She missed the animals so much,” said Sylvie.

Tippi is now 27 and went to school to get her degree in cinema. Though she now lives in the city, her real home with always be with the animals.
